LAHORE: The star-studded player draft for the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 10 was held here at Huzoori Bagh on Monday as all six franchises finalised their squads for the upcoming edition.

Two-time champions Lahore Qalandars kicked off the proceedings by picking up New Zealand’s Daryl Mitchell in their first and only pick of the platinum category as they had retained their captain Shaheen Shah Afridi and Fakhar Zaman in the top-most category.

The 2020 champions Karachi Kings went for Australia’s veteran opener David Warner before picking up New Zealand’s Adam Milne and Pakistan’s Abbas Afridi – using wild card – in the platinum category.

The Kings also made the most of the Supplementary rounds, where they roped in the senior duo of New Zealand’s Kane Williamson and Afghanistan’s Mohammad Nabi, who had gone unpicked in platinum and diamond categories, respectively.

Former champions Quetta Gladiators went for New Zealand’s Michael Bracewell in their first platinum pick before using wild card to rope in Faheem Ashraf. The 2019 champions then Finn Allen to round off their platinum picks.

The Gladiators’ next notable pick came in the Supplementary round when they picked Pakistan’s senior all-rounder Shoaib Malik, who had earlier gone unpicked in his respective category.

Peshawar Zalmi opted for dynamic English batter Tom Kohler-Cadmore in their only platinum pick, while Multan Sultans and Islamabad United picked New Zealand’s Michael Bracewell and Australia’s Matthew Short, respectively.
